It started before I was ten, practicing on the frayed ends of a rug — anything that looked like hair. By fifteen I was in New York, assisting on shoots for BET and celebrity clients through a cousin already in the industry. Training took me through an art-of-hair school in London and L'Oréal's studio in Paris, then into the Afro salons of Saint-Denis, where the style really took shape: Black techniques on European hair, European precision on Afro texture — edgy, voluminous, unmistakably mixed. From there it moved fast — London Fashion Week, Swiss Fashion Week, Afro Fashion Show, editorial work, and a clientele that grew to include musicians, artists and heads of state across Africa and Europe. Somewhere in there the job became more than hair — creative direction, styling, and eventually picking up the camera myself, so the same eye that builds the look is the one that frames it.
Every look starts backstage — wrapped, coiled, pinned and re-pinned against the clock, in collaboration with stylists, photographers and the model in front of the camera. Fifteen models, under two hours, still exact — a pace built from years of shows, not shortcuts.
